Men who fall victim to Russian Bride Scams often waste time,
money, effort, and a piece of their heart while the Russian
Bride Scam bandits make away with their money. Once you
understand the tell-tale signs of a scam, it's easy enough
to avoid falling victim. If you receive letters and pictures
from a lady who quickly seems to fall in love with you,
beware.
You must understand that the typical scammer is not a real
Russian lady, but a man using stolen pictures from an
unsuspecting woman. Once the correspondence is flowing and
she's falling in 'love', then she begins to ask for money -
for air travel to meet, for money for a visa, for internet
expenses, for a sick mom, etc. Once the element of sending
money to someone you've never met is introduced, the scam is
on.
Lonely and inexperienced men believe with their hearts that
they've connected with someone special -but the fact is,
they're being deceived. True Russian ladies would not ask
money from a stranger -and that's what you are until you've
met your lady in person. Young Russian ladies have almost
no chance of getting a tourist visa to visit the USA.
You'll be the one doing the traveling should the two of you
meet.
Another sign of a scam that's very recognizable is that
although you're corresponding with this lady, she's not
answering questions that you may ask. The reason is that
she's using a carefully crafted set of letters. Scammers
are aware of these problems of not answering men's
questions, so they might tack on a short paragraph to answer
an insistent man so that they can keep their scam going.
Scammers mostly use large, free dating websites where they
can easily create a fake identity like Lavalife.com or
Date.com. They prey on unsuspecting men, of who there are
plenty of on these sites. Before the guy catches on, he may
have sent his scammer hundreds of dollars for a travel visa,
air tickets, money to use the internet, etc.
There are plenty of REAL and sincere Russian women looking
for western husbands. Guys who want a Russian wife can be
safe and successful. The keys are to learn how to avoid
the pitfalls, understand what Russian women want, and to
make good decisions based on knowledge.
